Oh, my dear overwhelmed, busy, beautiful soul—I see you. I see the countless to-do lists, the laundry sitting in the dryer so long it's practically a resident, the work deadlines, the meals that don't make themselves, and the moments when you want five minutes of peace. You're juggling so much, trying to be everything to everyone. And yet, in the quiet of the night or the stillness of early morning, there's this tiny voice whispering, "What if I could write a book?"
And maybe your first thought is, "Sure, right after I become a superhero, learn to time travel and figure out how to add an extra eight hours to each day." Because let's face it, the idea of adding "write a book" to your already packed schedule can feel about as possible as running a marathon while holding a baby and balancing a basket of laundry on your head. But here's the thing: you absolutely can do it. Why? Because when a vision drops on your heart, you owe it to yourself to pursue it. Even if it feels impossible, even if you have to take baby steps, even if it's just a few minutes a day—your dream deserves your time because you deserve your time.
Believe me, I know how hard it is. My desire to build a career that I loved while raising a family was always met with distractions and setbacks. Having an identity that wasn't only 'Mom' or 'Honey' was something I had wanted for so long, but life, as it tends to do, kept throwing curveballs. And sometimes, it felt like life was throwing those curveballs with the intensity of a major league pitcher! In 2023, I found myself overcoming some challenging health issues and healing from not one but two major surgeries. I was homeschooling my teenage son, running a business with my husband, and trying to keep my head above water most days. Finding time to get a coherent thought down on paper seemed like a luxury—like taking a shower without someone asking me what the password was to Hulu.
But Dreams Have a Way of Persisting
Even in the middle of the chaos, that vision in my heart never went away. It was a whisper that wouldn't be silenced, a tiny flicker of light that kept burning, no matter how tired I was or how many demands were on my time. And I knew, deep down, that this dream was part of my purpose. Helping other women find their voices and share their stories—that's what I was meant to do. Ignoring it wasn't an option, not if I wanted to look back and be proud of the life I built. I realized that by ignoring it, I was only doing a disservice to myself—and you better believe I deserve better than that!
You Deserve to Chase Your Dreams
You may be in a similar spot right now, trying to keep everything together, managing health, home, work, and all the countless details of life. It feels like there's never enough time, never enough energy. But here's the truth: you deserve to chase your dreams. You deserve to create a career that lights you up, spend time doing what you love, and build something that makes you proud. You're not just someone's mom, partner, employee, or boss—you're a woman with dreams, passions, and a story to tell. And that story is worth hearing.
Finding the Time
Now, I won't lie to you and say it's easy. Some days will be harder than others. But even during the busiest times, you can carve out moments for yourself. It could be writing a few lines while your coffee brews in the morning (and yes, you'll probably have to reheat that cup a couple of times before you finish it). It could be recording voice notes on your phone during your commute or jotting ideas down while waiting in the carpool line. Maybe it's staying up a little later or waking up a little earlier to have that quiet time to let your thoughts flow. It doesn't have to be perfect, and it doesn't have to happen all at once. The important thing is that you start.
Every Little Step Counts
Overcoming obstacles doesn't mean leaping over mountains. It means taking one small step at a time. After those surgeries, when my energy was low and my to-do list was high, I started small—a sentence here, a paragraph there. I embraced the power of tiny moments. I imagined what that end result would look like and permitted myself to walk in that truth. I reminded myself that progress is still progress, no matter how slow it might feel. And over time, those small steps added up to something meaningful.
Your Vision is Your Gift
The fact that this vision has been placed on your heart means it's yours for a reason. It's a gift, a calling only you can bring to life. No one else can tell your story the way you can. No one else can reach the people you're meant to reach. And while it might be tempting to push it aside, to tell yourself you'll get to it "someday," remember that there's no perfect time. The ideal time is now, in the midst of everything else, because this is when it matters most, and tomorrow isn't promised to anyone.
You're Not Alone
If you ever feel like you're drowning in doubt, know you're not alone. So many women are fighting the same battles, managing the same struggles, and still finding a way to nurture their dreams. We're in this together, cheering each other on. And let me tell you, there's nothing more powerful than a community of women who believe in themselves and each other. We're a sisterhood walking this road together, lifting each other with strength and unwavering support every step of the way.
Start Where You Are, With What You Have
So start where you are, with what you have, and let the vision in your heart guide you. It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be you. The world is waiting for your story, your voice, your words. And I, for one, believe in you completely. You've got the strength, the courage, and the heart to make your dream a reality. So go ahead, write that first word. The rest will follow.
You've got this, and I'll be here cheering you on every step of the way. ❤️
